Description
Tour of the Salt Mountain Range (Cordillera de la Sal), which begins on the old road that connected San Pedro de Atacama with the city of Calama and continues through the “cornice” of this beautiful mountain range with impressive views of the Catarpe Valley, San Pedro River and also a outstanding panoramic view of the Atacama Desert.
Part of this trip is to visit a hidden cave with petroglyphs that was left by the ancient inhabitants of San Pedro de Atacama, the «Lickan Antai» the native culture of the region.
After this, the walk continues following the San Pedro River until its birth in the union of two other rivers to get in the region of «Angostura» and ending in the Rio Salado.
